Rivers people rejected poliitical oppression - Atiku hail Gov Fubara on LG Polls

Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, has praised the Rivers State Governor, Similaye Fubara, and all the citizens of the state, who he asserted had disobeyed what he called political threats and court game by going ahead to make Elections at the third do level.

Atiku said this against the background of the just concluded Local council elections in Rivers State.

In a post on his verified X handle, Atiku wrote on Sunday: “With the recent local government election, we know the days of political intimidation and judicial chicanery bought out in bummery state are over. The lofty dream of the people of Rivers state looking for government to pursue can now begin.

“The citizens from the centre of commerce Port Harcourt to the lady What has come out loud and clear is that nothing to disguise democracy is how better to believe.

“As it was foretold, it has come to light that the people of Rivers are clever and tough and that they will stand up against political violence, bullying, and the political games of selfish godfathers.

“While I take this opportunity to congratulate the freshly elected members in charge of the third tier of government, I appeal to them to embrace the fear of God and prioritize the peoples welfare before anything else,”
