Nigerian port now a shipment hub for china to europe cars export

A Nigeria port terminal has transformed into a prime logistics hub for transshipment of Chinese-assembled cars earmarked for European markets.

The Port terminal at Tin-Can Island Port Lagos witnessed the loading of these new vehicles meant to be shipped to Europe and other parts of Africa through different African ports.

This landmark event started in July when 5,489 new cars loaded in China were offloaded from a Grimaldi vessel called Grande Houston at the Tin-Can Island for onward transmission to ports in Europe and through Africa.

This is a significant milestone as it is the first time that a port in West Africa has ever received such a large number of brand new vehicles discharged by one single vessel.
