Mikel Arteta hails Bukayo Saka - He is just Lionel Messi

The Gunners boss Arteta said that he was in awe of Saka and compared his dribbling skills to those of Messi, who is both a representative for Barcelona as well as Argentina. Even so, there were moments when the head coach considered not starting Saka due to an abbreviated pre-season.

After the game, Arteta told journalists, “This is the way things are with great players; I can tell you where Messi will drop it. But he does that all the time. You cannot stop him because this is what makes him special.”

He said further, “You have to understand their place very well and what they need so give them a bit of space and let them breathe. They have been through a lot and those boys played lots of football in two years.

“But when you look at that desire, that energy to say i am really happy to be back and it isreal – it is a good sign. I am not surprised about anything. That is their character. They immediately said i will be ready for the first match after the (final)”.

On August 24th, The North London club will play their first away match of the new season against Unai Emery Aston Villa
