ASUU to go on strike again after Issuing Fresh Notice and gives reasons

The next 21 days will witness ASUU nationwide strike, if the government further fails to deliver on its obligations as announced by the Union today. This decision was reached during a meeting of NEC held in University of Ibadan, Ibadan Oyo state capital. ASUU said that certain agreements were reached at their last meeting with the government, which have not been implemented.

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has made it known that from now till twenty one days time her members will begin a nationwide strike action if the federal government does not do what it is supposed to.

ASUU President Prof. Emmanuel Osodeke mentioned this fact while saying that such agreements have so far never seen any implementation. They involve some important issues like implementing 2009 re-negotiated agreements, paying off accumulated academic allowances and revitalizing university funds.
